The 1rst edition onco-immunology workshop is organized by PhD students from the Toulouse Cancer Research Center (CRCT) in order to promote research and discussion in this field. It will take place at the IUCT-Oncopole Amphitheater of Toulouse (1 Avenue Irène Joliot-Curie,31100 Toulouse) on October 17th, 2024.

The immune system plays a crucial role in controlling tumors by targeting cancer cells through various direct and indirect mechanisms. In recent years, research has largely focused on studying the different components of the immune system in a tumor context. This has led to the development of new immunotherapies that have significantly improved patient care. However, these therapies do not benefit all patients, and resistance can emerge, highlighting the importance of better understanding the mechanisms involved.
Therefore, we have decided to organize a workshop on immuno-oncology to showcase the latest advances in this field from both a fundamental and clinical perspective. The three invited speakers will address the following topics:
Pr. Pedro Romero : Understanding the metabolism of CD8 T lymphocytes to promote anti-tumor memory.
Pr. Alexandre Boissonas: Studying the impact of chemotherapy on regulatory T lymphocytes and its effect on the myeloid compartment.
Dr. Capucine Grandjean : Using innovative immunotherapies targeting the myeloid microenvironment.
These presentations will be complemented by the intervention of Pr. Loïc Ysebaert, a clinical researcher working on bispecific antibodies, thus emphasizing the clinical importance of these concepts.
Finally, contributions from PhD students and post-doctoral researchers will provide a broader view of current research projects in immuno-oncology.
This event aims to bring together the various stakeholders in immuno-oncology research from the Toulouse region, along with international researchers, thereby promoting scientific and translational exchanges.
